T-Talent: the scholarship for STEM students and local talents
For the third consecutive year, we are pleased to promote the T-Talent initiative, a merit-based scholarship dedicated to recent high school graduates interested in pursuing a university path in the STEM field.
The goal is to enhance young local talents by offering them not only financial support, but also concrete opportunities for professional growth in the fields of engineering, science, and technology.
Who can apply?
The T-Talent scholarship is open to recent high school graduates who have obtained a final grade of at least 95/100 and who are enrolled – or will enroll – in university courses in the STEM field. Programs in Engineering (Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, Automation, Electrical, Electronic, Computer, Mechanical, Mechatronics), Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry are eligible.
The scholarship is reserved for candidates residing in the Casentino area, a condition that underlines our commitment to promoting local talent and contributing to the development of the future workforce in the territory.
How does the selection work?
The selection process consists of two phases: a written test on technical subjects (electronics, mechanics, mathematics and other related subjects), and – only in case of passing the test – an individual interview to explore the candidate’s profile and evaluate alignment with the company’s values and objectives.
It is not only about assessing the candidates’ skills, but also understanding their motivations, ambitions, and vision of the future. For us at Tera Automation, coming into direct contact with young talents represents a unique opportunity for mutual growth.
We can gather new insights, new ideas, and a new perspective on the future capable of positively influencing our development. The candidates, in turn, can approach the world of work in a stimulating environment and apply their skills in a solid, technologically advanced company strongly focused on innovation.
A path that supports young talents
The T-Talent Scholarship provides continuous support throughout the student's academic path.
In addition to the initial recognition award of €2.000, there is an annual contribution of €1.000 for each academic year completed with at least 80% of exams passed and an average grade of at least 25/30.
This continuous support is intended to encourage students to maintain high academic standards and to reward those who are truly motivated and committed to their educational path.
Supporting the territory to generate value
T-Talent was created with a clear goal: to invest in the youth of Casentino. Why did Tera Automation choose to dedicate this scholarship specifically to young people from Casentino? The answer lies in the challenges and opportunities that come from operating in a geographically isolated valley.
Doing business in Casentino means being strongly influenced by the economic, political, and social dynamics of the territory. We are located in a remote valley with limited logistical connections, and those who want to do business here face more obstacles than advantages.
These difficulties are obviously reflected also in the dynamics of recruitment and hiring of qualified personnel. In Casentino, the availability of skilled workers is constrained by isolation and limited local training opportunities. As a result, it is very difficult to find recent high school graduates already prepared for specialized technical roles.
For this reason, at Tera Automation we have chosen to invest directly in the training and professional development of local talents. In doing so, we cultivate the necessary skills internally, preparing the specialized workforce of tomorrow and contributing to the sustainable development of the area.
While recognizing the value of these efforts, we are also aware that for those with a clear vision of their future, finding concrete opportunities for professional growth locally represents a significant challenge. As a result, many young people from the valley are inevitably drawn to opportunities elsewhere.
Our commitment is, therefore, twofold: to the youth and to the territory. As a company, we strive to create real opportunities so that young people do not feel compelled to leave their homeland to pursue their professional dreams.
Collaborating with schools, a bridge to the future
In recent years, the gap between the world of education and the world of work has widened, often leaving young people unprepared to face professional challenges. We at Tera Automation, on the other hand, establish solid collaborations with schools and technical institutes and regularly share our technical experience with students, offering training activities such as internships, workshops, and company visits.
However, without careful planning, these tools risk being ineffective. In fact, we have noticed that institutions need maximum flexibility in organizing workshops and practical experiences with companies. Bureaucracy and lack of resources often dampen the enthusiasm of teachers and students in launching new projects. For this reason, at Tera Automation we meticulously plan training initiatives so that the experiences are truly useful for both the company and the student.
A possible model of inspiration could be that of Anglo-Saxon school systems, where schools offer extracurricular activities, even in the afternoon, that allow students to come into contact with the world of work. These kinds of experiences, if properly designed, can be very enriching for students and help bridge the gap between school education and entry into the professional world.
We are convinced that investing in young people, in education, and in the territory is the key to facing future economic and social challenges, and with T-Talent we want to do our part to build a better tomorrow.
